Chanel 2013 Resort Collection- MY opinion

Ready-to-wear resort collections have been around for many years. The original concept of a resort or cruise collection is to provide clothing for affluent customers who go away on holiday during the winter months to exotic destinations. Therefore, fashion houses created these collections to provide new, exclusive and stylish clothing which would work for their holidays as they would have to wear the previous S/S collection and who would do that?

Many have criticized the collection for being unwearable, which is quite true, but I can't help but like the fact that Chanel have adapted denim, lace and frills in one adorable collection. The models sported dresses with creepers and trainers, and although they didn't go with all the outfits, I think Karl Lagerfeld deserves some credit for taking such a brave move. Oh, and the beautiful setting! Versailles was the perfect choice for this collection to be debuted with its larger-than-life, elegant waterfalls.

Karl discusses his inspiration for this collection

I mean, I wasn't a fan of ALL the looks, but there were a few that I thought were just uber-adorable!
