Prabal Gurung Fall 2013- New York Fashion Week

For a RTW collection, Gurung gave us ultra glamour with a military twist. Evening looks upon evening looks were served with leather, satin and embellishments fit for a Queen.

Personally, I was obsessed with the coats and the luxurious dresses for the finale. Upscale met army chic with khaki and navy everywhere. The shoes were amazing too, gold buckles and gold heels!

Loved the transitions of colours. Khaki to navy to black to red to white.

Deep khaki cut-our dress with satin panels.

Peplum jacket and skinny cargo pants. Stunning with the black fur touch.

Braces used as a harness to "corrupt" a sweet, floral look.

Double leather with caged heels.

Opal toned and sheer fabric that almost glows in the dark on the runway.

Rich, silver fabric with gold details and a tight, black belt.

Best dress of the collection. Love the daringly high slit and the over-the-shoulder strap.

The Oscar red look. Long and straight with another OTS strap.

Navy satin with a leather harness. Military-style.

Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2013- New York Fashion Week

Minkoff shone like no other with her Fall 2013 collection yesterday. Her & Jason Wu have been my favourites so far. I love how she took such a unique approach to Fall 2013, steering away from the general colour palette and going for more bright, neon colours to add some brightness to the usual Fall wardrobe.

I'm a sucker for bands at fashion shows nowadays and I thought the Wild Boys did a great job accompanying the show.

Overall, the collection was modern and slightly tomboyish with unexpected twists and turns. Hair and beauty was spot on. Loved the sleek hair and winged eyeliner.

Lots of famous faces were seen at the show including Kate Nash, Nicky Hilton, Eve, Shanae Grimes and Olivia Palermo.

Fully buttoned white shirt with black leather shorts. Masculine but toned down with the sleek hair.

Not a fan of the trousers but in love with the khaki leather jacket with a simple mid zip and 3/4 length sleeves.

This coat is every blogger's favourite. Fur collar, leather trimmings, grey for a sporty feel and bright yellow on the inside . Ticking off trend by trend.

Cute nude colour coat, looks like PU leather. Open to reveal the knitted dress.

I don't know what I'm more excited to see: an ethnic model or the outfit? Took me a while to deliberate but I do like this preppy look with the messenger bag and pullover cardigan.

Cute day dress in bright, mustard yellow. This shade has been seen quite a bit at NYFW so far.

Favourite look. Mixture of satin and black leather tie-up dress. Doubles up as a short  sleeved trench.

Bright coral puffball sleeve minidress. Out of nowhere but lovely with the subtle shimmer.

BCBG Max Azria Fall 2013- New York Fashion Week

BCBG Max Azria is one of those collections I'll always take a look at. Normally, I'll end up liking half of  the collection and feeling a bit weird and intrigued about the other half. That's just how it goes. Nevertheless, you know there's going to be a hugely creative and original steer for every collection turned out.

This collection was a bit more masculine than what we've seen at NYFW so far. It's quite streetwise and artistic, combining lots of different types of fabrics and lengths.

Although the looks were very heavy, my favourites were the bold outerwear pieces that framed every look and stood out to be the pieces anyone would buy in an instant.

Long, quilted jacket with a fur trim on the insides and collar. A realistic Fall piece.

Leather biker jacket thrown over a mid-length dress and slim trousers. Lots going on but the jacket is undeniable.

Layering. A long length dress with a fairisle-style print and jewelled embellishments teamed with  satin pants and a sheer white blouse. Less is more went out the window!

Again, the outerwear is perfect. A deep, burnt red leather jacket with burgundy fur around the neck.

Not bad. The strapless, chiffon top is paired with the blouse for Fall. The fit of the trousers  is well-tailored.

Beautiful white full-length dress with lots of beadwork in the middle. One of the few feminine looks of the collection. The streetwear is not lost as a beanie hat is paired with the dress.

Mesh covers the whole of the leather outfit here. Works? Not sure.

Jason Wu Fall 2013- New York Fashion Week

First time reviewing a Wu collection and I'm pretty impressed. Although there were reports of people "ruining" the set up dragging snow in from the blustery streets of NY, things went off without a hitch. Not to mention, the gorgeous chandelier giving off flattering amounts of light.

Star-studded model appearance from the one and only Cara Delevingne, looking flawless as ever. Might have to run a piece on her recent successes, she's been everywhere!

Overall, the show was very polished and refined. A very feminine collection with lots of rich colours and materials, such as fur and satin.

This jacket is gorgeous. Black fur is the best fur for Fall.

Edgy, shattered cut-outs with a feminine white skirt.

Touch of metallic with this strapless dress.

Love these co-ordinates together. Brocade style with a cinching black belt to highlight the  waist and  the panels of satin with black leather gloves add the "I mean business" look.

The desired patent black leather jacket.

Plunge V neckline with a black and red contrast. The cut outs on the sides and the pleated fabric flatter a small figure.

Polka dots and peplum. Sheer chiffon and a heavier material for the skirt. Love the strappy sandals with this look too.

Stunning. Flowing lengths of midnight blue fabric trailing on the runway. Love the polka dotted mesh and the  cross-over halter.

Cara working the all-over white fur. Cosy and sleek.

Red Valentino Fall 2013- New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week has officially kicked off and everyone is buzzing waiting to see these Fall 2013 collections. Without a doubt, the most exciting fashion week. For me, it'll be live stream after live stream whenever I can catch one.

The first collection I've had a chance to look at is Red Valentino's which debuted yesterday.

This collection was adorable! Very fairytale-like with big inspiration drawn from Hansel & Gretel, Alice in Wonderland etc. Valentino knows that the Valentino Red customer is probably reasonably young and wants to have a little fun playing dress up. This has clearly been reflected in the romantic colours and bow detailing. The model looks as close to porcelain and doll-like as possible with her icy white skin, alice band and below-the-knee stockings, not to mention the illustrative, changing backdrop!

Strapless, bandeau dress with a cute, floral red pattern.

Hansel & Gretel, much? Lovely white tweed enhanced with red leather details and matching clutch. Ballerina  pumps to match.

Mid-length checked coat with a pleated skirt. Love the matching fur collar in an "enchanting" jade.

This look is a bit costume-ish but I like it. A white vest with a black dress finished off with a tied bow.

Something a bit more simple and wearable. A quilted blazer-jacket and skirt with Hunter-style boots.  Love the alice band with this look, makes it all the more cute.

The glamour look. Love the polka dotted A-line skirt with a big black bow belt paired with a cream/gold full sleeved shirt and blue floral detailing.

Spaghetti strap dress with an inserted sweetheart neckline and chain print.

Strapless, denim dress with frontal bow. Would be a gorgeous summer look.

Mustard yellow is really working here. The crotchet jumper with a subtle white shirt and high-waisted  miniskirt and bow belt is uber-sweet. Innocent to the max. Nude stockings and a paler coloured heel are used to mute the colour palette.

Stunning, evening romantic look. The black and white contrast with the huge roses on the shoes and dress pull this look together. I'd buy in an instant!

Giuseppe Zanotti & Kanye West

Guiseppe Zanotti has collaborated with Kanye West to create the "Cruel Summer" stilettos, named after his latest album.

Clearly, the majority of the inspiration of this heel has stemmed from the album cover artwork. I think we'll be seeing Kim wearing the first pair...

Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture

High expectations for Elie Saab this year. He won my vote for best Fall 2012 couture but will 2013 be up to par with last years? Yes, would be the simple answer.

It's important to understand that it's doubtful Elie Saab will remarkably change the fashion industry or produce drastically different collections each Couture collection the way someone like Karl Lagerfeld can. Why? Elie Saab maintains the classic, timeless pieces of elegance that are red-carpet worthy gowns with shimmering embroidery, flowing trails and rich, handcrafted materials. Saab will deliver year after year and Hollywood will never tire of it. At least, I hope it won't.

This collection was gorgeous and went above and beyond my expectations. The collection was cohesive and  fluent. Similar styles and cuts of dresses were produced for a few colours and it really worked.

Print isn't really Saab's thing, as far as I've read and seen. I think designers like Saab and Valentino are needed to fill the glamour side of the industry. We have loads of designers who've mastered print and shockingly creative pieces, Kane, Kenzo, Proenza etc.

Signature Saab. Sheer, lace and silver embroidery.

Simple in white. Long sleeves were expected.

The first "wow" look of the collection. 3/4 length sleeves and a heavily detailed torso and  full-length skirt.

Beautiful steel blue with a satin torso and glittering, fully embroidered skirt.

Glamour in gold,. Demure neckline with wider 3/4 sleeves this time.

Can't get over this dress. Sheer lace and satin = win

The Oscar look.

This is one of my favourites. There's something about the tight fit and flare that just works.

Here's the dress millions of celebrity stylists are probably dying for as we speak.

Nice use of the long sleeve, gothic look. This is reaaaally sheer. Saab always varies his levels of transparency . A twist to the girly side of florals.

The bridal look everyone waits for at the end of Couture shows. Huge, unique and fit for a royal.
